My sister wants to bring her new baby to my child-free wedding. Am I wrong to say no?
The complainant says
We're having a small, adults-only wedding: 60 guests, evening reception, a lot of speeches. We made the child-free decision a year ago and told everyone early. We've already said no to several friends with young children and they've been completely understanding.
My sister had a baby three months ago and is breastfeeding. She's asked to bring the baby, saying 'babies don't count as children'. If we say yes, we'd have to explain why to everyone we said no to. I offered to help pay for a babysitter nearby so she can pop out when needed.
The other side says the sister, as the complainant tells it
She says a three-month-old is completely different from a toddler, she can't leave a breastfed baby for a whole day, and that as my sister she shouldn't be treated like any other guest. She says she might not be able to come at all.
