After the 1966 Tour August 1966
You are advising the Beatles and their manager, Brian Epstein.
The Beatles are the biggest act in pop music and are on another exhausting international tour. Touring earns money and keeps them in front of fans, but the four members are increasingly unhappy on the road.
Known information
- In July the band left the Philippines amid hostility after an unintended snub of the country’s first lady.
- John Lennon’s remark that the Beatles were ‘more popular than Jesus’ has led to record burnings and protests in parts of the United States.
- Screaming crowds make it almost impossible for the band to hear themselves play.
- Their new album, Revolver, includes studio-based songs that are very hard to perform live with the equipment of the time.
- Stopping would mean no more concerts for fans anywhere in the world.
