Case #29965 Relationships 6,373 jurors so far

Is it fair for my partner to want the bedroom at 17 degrees?

The complainant says

My partner runs hot and likes the bedroom freezing. They open the window in January and set the thermostat so the radiator never comes on. I wake up with a cold nose and have started wearing a hat to bed. An actual woolly hat.

I suggested we keep the window shut and the radiator on low. They say they can't sleep if it's warm. I've suggested separate duvets, which we now have, but it's still cold enough that my hands hurt in the morning.

The other side says the partner, as the complainant tells it

They say cooler bedrooms are healthier for sleep, that 17 degrees is within the recommended range, and that I can add layers but they can't remove any more. They say they'd be awake all night sweating if the heating was on.

Window open in January is not 17 degrees, that's outdoors with a ceiling.

They are technically right that you can add layers and they can't remove skin.
