Last year my friend borrowed my car for a weekend and returned it with a dent in the rear bumper. She said it 'must have happened in a car park' and didn't offer to pay. It cost me £180 to fix. I let it go to keep the peace.
Now she's asked to borrow it again for a week while hers is being repaired. I said no, politely, and mentioned the dent. She said she can't believe I'm still holding that against her and that she'd do the same for me.
She says she genuinely doesn't know how the dent happened, it wasn't her fault, and that bringing it up a year later is petty. She says she needs the car to get to work and I'm leaving her in a difficult spot over £180.
