Case #81719 Weddings 14,990 jurors so far

Was the best man's speech too much, or am I too sensitive?

The complainant says

At our wedding, my husband's best man gave a speech that included a long story about my husband's ex, a joke about how many times he'd been dumped, and a slideshow of old holiday photos with other girlfriends in them (faces blurred, but still). My grandparents were there.

People laughed, but I was mortified. I told my husband I was upset and he said it was 'classic best man stuff'. The best man has since heard I was annoyed and says I can't take a joke.

The other side says the best man, as the complainant tells it

The best man says wedding speeches are supposed to embarrass the groom, not the bride, and that my husband approved the jokes beforehand. He says most guests loved it.

A slideshow of exes at a wedding is not classic best man stuff. It's a classic best man mistake.

The groom approved it beforehand? Then honestly your husband is the real defendant here.

Came here to say this. Best man is guilty, husband is the accomplice.

Blurring the faces is somehow worse. Like he knew it was dodgy.

Embarrass the groom about his dancing, his haircuts, his terrible cooking. Not his exes. It's not hard.

Comment on the dispute, not the people. No names, guesses about who anyone is, or abuse. Jury room rules.
