I wore white to a wedding by accident. How bad is it?
The complainant says
I went to a colleague's wedding in a dress that I honestly thought was pale grey with a floral print. In daylight and in the photos it looks basically white with small flowers. I didn't realise until I arrived and saw a few people glance at me.
I apologised to the bride at the reception and she said it was fine, but I've since heard from another guest that she was upset and had asked the photographer to keep me out of the group shots. I feel awful but also a bit hurt because it wasn't on purpose.
The other side says the bride, as the complainant tells it
The bride says it was obviously a white dress, she felt upstaged in some photos, and that anyone should check carefully before wearing something pale to a wedding. She appreciated the apology but doesn't think it undoes it.

Rule of thumb: if you're asking 'is this too pale', it's too pale.
The problem is they didn't ask. They thought it was grey.
Pale grey with flowers in a shop light is a trap every single time.
Both of you are a bit right. Honest mistake, understandable feelings. Nobody's a villain.
You apologised on the day. That's all anyone can do. Keeping you out of photos is a bit much.
Need a photo to be honest. Grey floral and white floral are very different cases.
