Who should get the last parking space: the car waiting with its indicator on, or me?
The complainant says
In a busy supermarket car park, I'd been driving round for about ten minutes. A space opened up right in front of me as someone reversed out. Another car was waiting two spaces further along with its indicator on, but it was facing a different space where someone was loading their boot.
When the space in front of me cleared, the other car pulled forward and beeped, and the driver said they'd been waiting for 'this row'. I pulled in anyway because I was closest. They shouted at me as I walked into the shop.
The other side says the other driver, as the complainant tells it
The other driver says they'd been waiting longer and were clearly waiting for the next available space in that row, not one specific space. They say it's common courtesy that whoever waited first gets the next space.

Can't judge this without a diagram. I need arrows.
The site should let people upload car park diagrams. Just for these cases.
There's an unwritten rule that you wait for your space. It's written in the hearts of shoppers.
Indicating for one specific space doesn't give you a claim on the whole row.
Ten minutes of circling and then shouting over a space. Supermarket car parks bring out the worst in everyone.
