Is it rude to ask a flatmate to stop singing in the shower at 6am?
The complainant says
My flatmate starts work early and showers at 6am. Every morning, without fail, they sing. Not humming. Full musical theatre, with key changes. Our bathroom shares a wall with my bedroom and I don't need to be up until 7:30.
I've started sleeping with earplugs but they fall out. I asked them, politely and with a laugh, if they could maybe keep the concerts to the evenings. They looked genuinely hurt and said it's the only time of day they feel happy.
The other side says the flatmate, as the complainant tells it
They say singing in the shower is a normal human thing, it only lasts about ten minutes, and they're not going to shower in silence in their own home. They suggested I move my bed to the other wall.

'The only time of day they feel happy' is so bleak and so funny at the same time.
Compromise: they get one song. One. And no big finish.
The big finish is the whole point though
Ten minutes of singing at 6am through a wall is a lot. Humming, fine. Key changes, no.
Honestly moving the bed isn't a terrible suggestion.
Get them a waterproof speaker so they sing along quietly instead of carrying the whole show.
