Case #76563 Family 8,649 jurors so far

Should my sister have to pay rent to live with our dad?

The complainant says

Our dad is retired and lives alone in the family home. My sister, who's 31 and working full time, moved back in two years ago to save for a house. She doesn't pay anything towards bills or food.

Dad is on a pension and I've noticed he's worrying about money and turning the heating off. I suggested to my sister that she should contribute something, even £200 a month. She told me to mind my own business because it's between her and dad, and that she helps him with lifts and shopping.

The other side says the sister, as the complainant tells it

She says dad offered her the room for free, and she does a lot for him day to day that I don't see because I live two hours away. She says if dad has money worries he can raise them himself.
