Case #65471 Relationships 7,790 jurors so far

My partner says I spend too much on coffee. Who's being unreasonable?

The complainant says

I buy a coffee from the café near my office four days a week. About £3.60 each. It's the one small treat in my day and the walk there is my break from my desk.

My partner went through our budget spreadsheet and highlighted that I spend around £60 a month on coffee, and said that's 'basically a holiday a year'. They've bought me a reusable cup and a cafetière for the office. We aren't struggling. We are saving for a wedding, though.

The other side says the partner, as the complainant tells it

They say every bit helps while we're saving for the wedding, that they've cut back on things they enjoy, and that £700 a year on coffee is hard to justify. They don't want to control my spending, they just want us both to make an effort.
